Can you tell us about your professional background?

My name is Christien. I graduated from the University of Fianarantsoa in 2018. After earning my degree, I worked as an IT consultant at a firm, which helped me strengthen my practical skills. I then joined Esokia Madagascar at the end of 2021.

What is your role at Esokia?

I’m a developer specializing in Laravel and VueJS. I primarily focus on back-end development, but I also get the opportunity to collaborate with the front-end and project teams.

You’re also involved in project management. What are your responsibilities in that area?

As a developer, I contribute to project management on the technical side. This includes workload estimation, progress tracking using tools like Jira or Tracker, and close collaboration with project managers to ensure deadlines and technical requirements are met. I also participate in follow-up meetings, needs analysis, technical documentation writing, and help break down features into agile tasks.

What excites you about web development?

This profession excites me because it allows us to create tangible solutions from abstract ideas. It’s a constantly evolving field that encourages curiosity and continuous learning. I enjoy solving problems and seeing the results of my work quickly. Web development combines logic, creativity, and innovation—exactly what I’m looking for.

How do you approach client relationships?

I prioritize clear, regular, and transparent communication. I place great importance on thoroughly understanding client needs, don’t hesitate to ask clarifying questions, and ensure clients are well-informed about project progress. When technical aspects need explaining, I take a pedagogical approach to build trust.
